You wanted the best you got the best...
Jun 27, 2009

We all know that the guys IRIS are huge KISS fans (well a few of them anyway) so we thought it would be cool to put this link up and ask the fans to help bring KISS to San Antonio.

Studio update day 8
Jun 12, 2009

Studio News:

On Monday Tim and Jordan spent a lot of time setting the drums up and getting a nice drum sound. They worked on mic placement and setting the EQ to perfect the sound of Jordan's tone.

On Tuesday Jordan recorded drum tracks to 6 songs with 4 more to go. Tim and Jordan stated they were happy with the results. Next up are Guitars, basses, vocals, and back ground vocals.

We cannot wait to hear the final mix but if the first two are any clue to what they will sound like they're all going to sound awesome.

When is IRIS playing again?

Well, that's a loaded question. The schedule in June was so tight that they couldn't commit to a date. Some in the band were enjoying birthdays, planned vacations, scheduled surgery, wedding anniversaries, you name it. Iris would rather be playing live but they do need a break. They have received a lot of emails requesting dates and as soon as those dates are booked we’ll add them to this site. Keep checking.

Let the Demos begin
Jun 6, 2009

IRIS is working hard in the studio creating some kicking tunes. For a tease we put two of the first demos that were submitted for final mixing yesterday; Talk Dirty to Me and Eruption in the Iris. Talk Dirty to me is a Poison cover and Eruption in the Iris is a remake of Eddie Van Halen's Eruption. We think the guys did a great job and can't wait for the rest of them. You can find the songs under the new section called "Music." They plan to do about 10 demos to show how diverse this band is. Keep checking back as we add the demos one by one.

A friend of the band sits and watches as the tracks are recorded straight to disk.
Weekend Update
May 27, 2009

We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and remembered to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We salute our fallen heroes and their families. We will always dedicate “We’re an American Band” to all those who have served.

Speaking of country! Our very own Jim Van Frehley helped out some buddies of ours. On Saturday Jim was manning the sound board for FM1863. Arnie and JP, who have played with IRIS on many occasions, had a gig at the Blue Cactus (The Wetmore Store) Saloon with their band FM1863. Since their sound guy was out of town enter Jim and FM1863 working together again. "I enjoy all types of music and when Arnie called me I was more than happy to help." It was a great time and a great gig by FM1863. "Those guys will always be members of the IRIS family.

After the FM1863 gig Jim and Marc left to see the Spazmatics at the Scout Bar. They put on a high energy show which is an understatement. The place was packed and bodies were everywhere. You couldn’t pop another person in that place with a shoe horn. It was that crowded.  San Antonio needs more places like the Scout Bar!

June is a light month is terms of playing our typical rotation but IRIS is actually booked playing a lot of private parties this summer. We’re scheduled to play a few private parties actually. These are the people who came to our show and wanted us at their summer gatherings, weddings, and corporate gigs. We’re currently talking to a few organizations about playing in the fall for their corporate events – more info on those when they are finalized.

As always, remember to rock n roll all night and party with IRIS every day.

LEGENDS tomorrow
May 14, 2009
IRIS will be playing Legends Sports Bar & Billiards tonight starting at 9:30 p.m. Check out the event section for directions and times. For the two people in San Antonio who don't know; Iris is a great band with very talented and professional guys.

Some people calls us the most clean cut band in San Antonio. We look like we should be playing Dave Matthews but we're rock to the bone. We're just a bunch of guys who have professional day jobs and actually were smart enough (or dumb enough - we should have never grown up) to finish college.

Ah those college days of rocking out and having fun. That's what Iris brings to the party. We're a band that plays music that is fun to listen to.

We are the Delta fraturnity from Animal House. No one can party like IRIS.
